OAT2 Transporter Assay (SLC22A7)

The OAT2 transporter is an organic anion uptake transporter that is encoded by the SLC22A7 gene. OAT2 is expressed in the basal-lateral membrane in the liver and kidney. Because it serves to take substrates from the blood stream into the kidney and liver, OAT2 can mediate the elimination of these compounds.
